Once you have specified the string you want searched, how you want it searched, and the string you want to replace it, you can use the lower portion of the XCMDΓÇÖs window to perform the actual search and replace operations.
Use the Find Next button to find next occurence or initial one of the Find What string. This button becomes active only when a Find What string is specified, and then becomes dimmed if the Find What string has just been completely replaced ΓÇö the foundchunk is empty. You can hit the enter or return key to engage this button. This button will also work continuously when either key is held down.
Use the Replace button to replace the string or word that is surrounded by a black rectangle. If you donΓÇÖt see the rectangle, it may still be there. Try to drag the window to a point where you can see as much of hypercardΓÇÖs window as possible. This button is dimmed initially, that is, when there is no Find What string, and when the foundchunk is empty.
